Transverse strength is a measurement of strength when the load is applied across the longitudinal flow of the grain of a material. Certain impurities such as sulphur have a detrimental effect on the transverse strength. This can be minimised by the inclusion modification process.
Formula Used:
Transverse strength of a Material = ( 8 * P * L) /( 3.14 * d3 )
where,
P - Breaking load
L - Average distance
D - Diameter
